Minnesota Inner City Outings (MN ICO), part of the North Star Chapter of the Sierra Club, provides inner city youth with an introduction to outdoor adventures including dayhikes, backpacking, canoeing, camping, and skiing. In conjunction with community agencies, MN ICO leads small groups of youth on, what is for many, their first outdoor experience. This is a group for anyone who wants to bicycle (or tricycle) on level trails for short distances with lots of rests. I have arthritis in my knee and was sad because hiking was banned by my doctor. But he also wants me to lose weight! My bicycle no longer feels stable so I found something called the Terra Trike which feels very stable and comfortable for me. The Iron Girl Race is for girls and women. It will be held in Bloomington on September 22nd at Normondale Lake park at 7:30 am. It is a 2 mile run, 22 mile bike and 2 mile run, duathlon. I did this six years ago and just registered for this year! Group rides on Tuesdays and Thursdays are open to interested individuals beginning April 2nd. All rides will meet and leave from Turner Hall in New Ulm. Tuesday rides are designed for recreational cyclists and families. Group meets at 5:30 and will ride for an hour around New Ulm and the Bike Loop.
